Turkey specialist and current vWDC champion Morgante Pell topped Red Wednesday board #2 on 5/12/21 with some “truthful” play even though his neighbors may not agree.
As Austria, I didn’t volunteer Trieste to Ben as Italy, but said that if he took it, he’d have to commit fully West of against Turkey. West it was. The Eastern powers locked up early with stalemated play thru Fall 1902 when I offered Turkey support to RUM in exchange for BUL.
Ben and (Two-Way) Tommy Anderson in Germany pushed ahead in 1903 both grabbing builds to keep pace with Turkey, with Ben and I making a push to the middle of the board to help Italy grow. However the A/T “alliance” ended there as Morgante re-took BUL in Fall 1903 while also patching up with Ali in Russia even while taking MOS. Those builds gave Morgante position to push thru for final position, walking into another Austrian dot and Russian dot for the board top.
