Even with Valentine’s Day around the corner, the only love in sight at February’s Red Wednesday was that of other’s supply centers. And Weasels wouldn’t have it any other way.
Similar to something out of a movie or TV show where the ringer athlete steps in to help the office win the company softball game, west-coaster JJ Raymond showed up in our Discord server about 5 minutes prior to the game asking if we needed a back-up to play. Due to confusion over an RSVP, JJ was needed to make the magical number (7). Sadly for the initial six, that was where the luck ended.
From the very start with the grabbing of Tunis and a swipe of Trieste, Raymond held or shared the board top the entire game. After making quick work of Austria with his initial deceit, Italy raced southeast while keeping his eyes on the building Anglo-French alliance. Both yours truly (England) and France had opportunities to stab for a push to the top, but neither abandoned their ally – settling to keep pace behind the Caesar. The result gives JJ his second board top in as many games and a commanding early lead to start Season XVI.
