Weasel Moot IX is next weekend (June 13-14). We’ll post helpful info here, like how to find us and where to park. Stay tuned for additional updates.
Location, Location, Location
This year’s Moot will be in the Atrium at UIC’s Student Residence & Commons-South. The Atrium is located at 700 S. Halsted St., but you can also get there via Student Center East, which is at 750 S. Halsted. The two buildings are connected by a bridge on the second floor. The Atrium is at the north end of the structure.
Public Transportation
The UIC Halsted stop on the blue line el will put you about two blocks north of the Atrium. The Halsted bus (No. 8) will also get you there, as will the Blue Island bus (No. 60). I’m not sure what’s going on with the Harrison bus (No. 7) given all the construction on Harrison.
Parking
There’s a parking garage and lot at Taylor and Halsted with reasonable rates and 24-hour availability. After 3 p.m. on Friday through Sunday, the garage will cost you just $8.50 per day.
You shouldn’t have trouble finding a spot there, but if you do, there’s another lot on Maxwell St. (a block or two south of Roosevelt) and Union with the same rates.
Checking In
Those of you staying at the dorm may check in as early as noon on Friday. Report to Student Residence & Commons-South at 700 S. Halsted St. Follow the signs to the front desk, which is on the second floor. The front desk is open 24/7, and the number is 312-355-6500 if you need help.
Friday Night Outing
We’re leaning toward starting at the Moxee brew pub on Maxwell Street tomorronw night (Friday). Still willing to consider Little Italy or Greek Town, so speak up or comment below.

Helpful tips.
1) You may want to bring a robe if you have one, if you plan to shower at all. (Not judging: It’s a gaming convention.) Looks like we drew the short straw and got the rooms with communal bathrooms on each floor. Separate bathrooms for men and women.
2) Bring an umbrella if you don’t like getting wet. There’s lots of stuff surrounding the UIC campus, but you have to walks five or six blocks to get anywhere worth getting.
3) If you park in the Taylor and Halsted lot, follow the signs to the Taylor Street Exit when you want to leave. The other exit is likely to be closed, as I learned an hour ago.
4) You can get to the Atrium through the Student Center East building, which is right across the street from the parking lot outside the parking garage at Taylor and Halsted. Just take the stairs to the second floor and keep walking north to get to the Atrium.
