Join us for Opening Night!

The 10th season of Windy City Weasels Diplomacy will open Sept. 10 at the Red Lion in Lincoln Square. The game, which will start at 6:30 p.m. and end no later than 11, will also mark the start of the 2015 Bar Room Brawl Series.

In addition, the event will serve as our Prime Weasel’s homecoming. As you may know, Nate Cockerill has been battling a serious illness. How serious? Well, Nate missed Moot and the Pyle. He never misses anything, and these were our two biggest events of the year. He is currently recovering from surgery and other procedures at his family’s farm in Ohio. Let’s give him the homecoming he deserves. (Open to interpretation.)

We’re also hoping to see some new faces at this event, recruits from this weekend’s Diplomacy tournament at GenCon. To give them a warm welcome, we’d like to field two boards.

But wait, there’s more. Our club played its first game on Sept. 10 in 2005, so we’ll also be celebrating the Weasels’ ninth birthday.

Lots of reasons to join us for the opener. Pick one that works for you! Hope to see you there.

We’ve got seven new players coming to this event. If we get to 15, I will run the novice game. We could actually use a couple of extra players to either help out if all the new guys show or fill in if some of them don’t. So, if you’re up for that, please sign up.
