Slow news week, so we’ll keep this one extra brief.
A Champion Will Be Crowned
The 2013 North American Diplomacy Championship will be this weekend at Tempest in a Teapot in Silver Spring, Maryland. My son Kevin and I will be driving out for the event, and it looks like Nate Cockerill and/or Dan Burgess will be joining us for the road trip. Watch @windycityweasel for my tweets from the road and the con.
The Hunt for October Players
We’re close to filling both our board this month. We need just two more for next week’s game at Guthrie’s Tavern in Wrigleyville. Several of you have been clamoring for a Dip & Drinks event at Guthrie’s. Here’s your chance. The game will be Oct. 16 at 6:30 until no later than 11. If this one doesn’t fill, you know that will be all the excuse Cockerill needs to load up on more Red Lion games.
We need two or three players for the Undercard game at the Weasel Royale. That will be Oct. 26 at Burgess’ home in Downers Grove, starting at 11 a.m.. The Undercard game has been a lot of fun the past four years and has contributed so much to the festive atmosphere of the Royale. And in three of the past four Undercards, the board-topper ended up qualifying for the next year’s Royale. So,let’s fill this game. Who’s in?
- Oct. 16 at Guthrie’s Tavern, starting at 6:30 p.m. until no later than 11. Have five.
- Oct. 26, the Undercard game at the Weasel Royale, starting at 11 a.m. Have four (or five, if we force Dan to play).
- Oct. 11-13: Tempest in a Teapot hosts the North American Diplomacy Championship, Silver Spring, Maryland. (More info at http://ptks.org/.)
- Oct. 26: The 2013 Weasel Royale club championship and the Fifth Annual Undercard Game.
