The Weekly Weasel — Week of May 13

Here’s the latest news from the Weasels.

All in a Wednesday Night’s Work
Three builds for Italy in 1901. None for England until 1905. A new nickname. A club record for tactical ineptitude. And the visiting luminary topped the board. It was just another Wednesday night for the Weasels. Check out last week’s game report.

Third Straight Wednesday Night Tilt
Wednesday is Diplomacy Night. We’ll cross pens for a third straight Wednesday night game tomorrow at  the Red Lion in Lincoln Square. Take a look at the lineup.

Weasel Moot VII
We’re under 40 days till Weasel Moot VII, June 22-23 at the Holiday Inn in west suburban Willowbrook. A board’s worth of travelers have already preregistered, and we’re expecting more to do so soon. You’ll save $5 if you preregister, $2 if you’re a student. You can preregister through PayPal via a link on the website. You’ll find more information here, and general kibitzing on Facebook.

Dues Are Due
Your 2013 membership dues are now due. Once again, we’re charging $25 for the calendar year, $10 for students. Paid-up members receive a $5 discount at Weasel Moot, get first crack at all our game openings, and are eligible for our annual Weasels club awards and to compete in the Weasel Royale club championship game. Your dues help pay for our annual club awards, the Meetup site, our website, and other club activities. Help us out by paying your dues today. Twenty Weasels (thanks, Peter!) have paid up so far! Use the PayPal link online or give your dues to a Sneak member.

Upcoming Games

  • May 15 at the Red Lion in Lincoln Square, beginning at 7 p.m. until no later than 11. Have seven; standbys and onlookers welcome.
Sign up for games at the website, on Meetup, or by emailing your faithful War Weasel (which is now Nate Cockerill, nathancockerill@yahoo.com).

Important Dates

  • June 22-23: The seventh annual Weasel Moot. Hroom, hroom.
That’s all for this week. See you next week.

Jim
