The holiday season is here, and we’re offering several opportunities to roast nuts over an open fire of hot Diplomacy action.
Game on for Sunday
We have a firm seven for Sunday’s game at Dan Burgess’ home in Downers Grove, which will be our club’s 199th game. Check out the lineup. Burgess currently is our seventh, but we expect to replace him soon to free him for hosting duties, which in his house involves live-blogging the game. Watch the website on Sunday to follow the action.

The 2013 Grand Prix will kick off Feb. 1 in two locations: WACCon in Seattle on the West Coast, and TempleCon in Providence on the East Coast.
This year marks the penultimate WACCon. The event will be pared down a bit from year’s past as organizers Nathan Barnes and Mark Zoffel gear up for an epic finale in 2014. For more info on WAC, check out the event’s Facebook page. Organizer Jim Burgess likely will hit our list soon with info about Temple.

Jim, you say “I’m not sure which of them are planning to attend” – do you know about the 4th person in that list?
Word on the street is that Aash is likely to attend and maybe Nick will too.
Would love to see more weasels there – US Airways seems to have flights from Chicago $375 RT and if you want to save costs, there are other people looking to find a roommate.
Aash is the one person on the list who told me definitively that he’ll be there. Unfortunately, I can’t make it. I was a longshot anyway, but I now have a work conflict. I’m leaving town on business on Thursday, Jan. 17, returning Saturday, Jan. 19, in the early afternoon. š
Probably the only tournament I’ll be able to travel to in 2013 is DipCon at Tempest. I’m planning on the final WAC in 2014 and WDC at Dixie.
