WDC welcome party at the Exchequer!

The World Diplomacy Championship at Weasel Moot VI is just 10 days away. Who’s getting excited? Well, now you have even more to be excited about! (Honestly, if I weren’t opposed to multiple exclamation points, I’d tag on a few more to that sentence!)

We’re going to kick the weekend off with a welcome party for our out-of-town guests at the Exchequer Restaurant and Pub, 226 S. Wabash in Chicago on Thursday, Aug. 9. The Exchequer is about three blocks from the Congress Plaza Hotel, site of the WDC. The party will begin at 8 p.m. and go till 10 in a private room at the Exchequer.

The cost will be $26 per person, which includes tax and gratuity. For that price, you’ll get unlimited coffee, soda, tea, house wines and domestic draft beer, plus a buffet offering beef shish kabob, roast Greek chicken, roasted potatoes, spinach pie and Greek salad. We’ll collect at the party.

And to top it all off, Tournament Director Dan Burgess will run a trivia contest. Afterward, once all our travelers are assembled, there may be an expedition to Louie’s Pub at 1659 W. North Ave., a great karaoke bar. You haven’t been stabbed till you’ve heard me sing!

It’s going to be a fun evening. Please consider joining us to help welcome our out-of-town guest to the Windy City for the 22nd World Diplomacy Championship! To help us plan, please comment below if you’re going to make it, unless you’ve already done so on the Facebook event page.

Join the discussion!

Find out more about an upcoming event or article, talk smack before a game, brag about your board top, or most likely, ask what on earth your fellow Weasels were thinking!
