Go East, Young Shuffle

Last year, we included the North American Diplomacy Championship at Carnage as part of the Central Shuffle in order to encourage Weasels to travel. Since we’re hosting DipCon this year as part of the World Diplomacy Championship at Weasel Moot VI, we’ve decided to look East to round out the minor circuit.

In addition to CODCon, which happened in April, and Weasel Moot, the Shuffle will include the Diplomacy tournament at the World Boardgaming Championships in Lancaster, Penn., and Tempest in a Teapot in D.C.

WBC will take place the weekend before WDC, Aug. 3-4. You can find more info here, www.boardgamers.org/wbc/schedule.htm, or by emailing organizer Thomas Haver.

Tempest will be Oct. 5-7 in the D.C. area. More info here.

Scoring in the Shuffle will be based on the best three out of four events. Each event will be worth 10 times the total number of boards in the three largest rounds (max. of 300 points per event). The tournament winner will score the full amount. Each subsequent position will score 90 percent of the previous position. To be eligible to win, players must participate in at least one of the Chicago-area events and at least one of the Eastern events.

Good luck!
