February is for lovers…and Yeargin

March Madness starts on Saturday, but can the month be any madder than February was? The shortest month of the year  saw our longest game ever, a 36-turn slugfest on February 19. And that was just one of five games. Nineteen players participated, and although two of the games were on the same night at a great new venue in Lincoln Square called Cinner’s, Nate Cockerill managed to play in all five.

Peter Yeargin had a great month, playing in four games and posting 2 1/2 board tops, including two near solos. Good thing this isn’t a leap year. Who knows what he might have done with an additional day.

There are still openings in a few of our March Madness games, and we’ll announce another round of bar games soon, so stay tuned. Hope to see you at a game next month!
