Update on Weasel Moot IV

Weasel Moot IV is in just 18 days, and it’s looking like it’s going to be a good one.

So far, 30 players have confirmed, and we’re still waiting to hear from others. We had 38 players at the first and thid Moots, and 35 at the second. We should be in that range again.

The 30 players include
nine travelers: two from Boston, two from D.C., two from Houston, one from the Bay Area, one from Philadelphia, and one from Ohio. Four of these travelers will be Mooting for the first time. Among the local players, we have six who will be attending their first Moots, and two who haven’t played with us, period.

All these first-timers in attendance can only mean one thing: We’re going to have to regale them with our Battle Hymn, Come Now Weasels. Fortunately the hymn’s co-author Eric Brown is up to the challenge. He recently put the lyrics on actual song sheets.

Preregistration for the tournament is open until Sept. 21. Thirteen players have already taken advantage of the savings. Remember, the room block at the Quality Inn closes on Sunday. Reserve your room now to get the $79 rate. Just call 630-325-2900, and mention that you’re with Weasel Moot. Also, don’t forget your hat for Hat Night at the Friday evening round.

More information is available at windycityweasels.org/wm4. The fun starts at 7 p.m. on Sept. 24 at the Quality Inn in Burr Ridge, 300 S. Frontage Rd. Registration for the first round will be from 6:15 to 6:45 p.m. Hope to see you there!
