Join us for our second Red Wednesday at the Red Lion, November 12 beginning at 6:30 p.m. until no later than 11.
What are you doing on January 15? How about May 13? Not sure? Well, here's a hint: Starting in October, the second Wednesday of every month will be Red Wednesday at the Red Lion. Join us every month on the second Wednesday for dinner, drinks and Diplomacy at the Red Lion in Lincoln Square. Hope to see you there!
Ring in October with a rare Thursday night house game at Peter Lokken's home in Logan Square. House game with bar timing. Check it out!
If you've been thinking that the only thing missing from your life is the chance to play Diplomacy outdoors, then today is your lucky day! We're fielding a game in the Chess Pavilion at North Avenue Beach on Sept. 21, beginning at 11 a.m. Bring your picnic basket and your wits.
And you thought Diplomacy couldn't be just another day at the beach.
Tony Prokes will once again try to evangelize at the Conception gaming convention at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn.
He plans to hold an intro round from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 27. He will then run a standard game at 2 p.m. with a hard ending of midnight. If there's sufficient interest, he may run a game of Colonial Dip as well.
The standard game at 2 p.m. will count as a regular Weasels league game. The into game and any variants will be treated as exhibition games, meaning they won't count in the Season 10 standings.
Conception charges $15 for a one-day pass, $13 if you preregister at http://concentricgamecons.com/.
The 10th season of Windy City Weasels Diplomacy will open Sept. 10 at the Red Lion in Lincoln Square. The game, which will start at 6:30 p.m. and end no later than 11, will also mark the start of the 2015 Bar Room Brawl Series.
In addition, the event will serve as our Prime Weasel's homecoming. As you may know, Nate Cockerill has been battling a serious illness. How serious? Well, Nate missed Moot and the Pyle. He never misses anything, and these were our two biggest events of the year. He is currently recovering from surgery and other procedures at his family's farm in Ohio. Let's give him the homecoming he deserves. (Open to interpretation.)
We're also hoping to see some new faces at this event, recruits from this weekend's Diplomacy tournament at GenCon. To give them a warm welcome, we'd like to field two boards.
But wait, there's more. Our club played its first game on Sept. 10 in 2005, so we'll also be celebrating the Weasels' ninth birthday.
Lots of reasons to join us for the opener. Pick one that works for you! Hope to see you there.
For the sixth straight year, we'll field an Undercard Game at our club championship, the Weasel Royale. While the varsity slugs it out upstairs, come play a casual game with the jv in Dan's spacious basement, complete with three beers on tap, or on his deck if weather permits! In four of the first five Undercards, the board-topper went on to qualify for the next Royale. So, added incentive.
Our club's happiest tradition is back for a ninth installment. Join us for our annual season-ending gala at Brown Manor in bucolic Wayne. At least two boards of Diplomacy, our annual club awards, the announcement of the Weasel Royale and Bar Room Brawl bids, plus the striking of the Regimental Choir. Good times!
Remember that guy who would walk into your dorm room and ask if you wanted to party? You'd be like, "No, Man, I have to study."
Then he'd say, "Dude?!? It's Tuesday!"
Well, same thing only Diplomacy. Who's in?
Join Bull Weasel Josh Heffernan for a game of Dip at his home in Logan Square.
