Happy St. Patrick's Day! Here's the latest news from the Weasels.

Dip on Demand
One of the great things about the Weasels is that when you're ready for a game, you can usually find one. Guys like Craig Reges -- who on Saturday played his first league game with us in six years -- can thank uber-regulars like Nate Cockerill and Don Glass for that. Check out the game summary and reaction from host Tony Prokes to find out whether Italy extended its streak of three straight St. Patrick's Day board tops.

March Madness Winds Down
Saturday's game marked the third straight March weekend that we fielded a board. So far, 14 different people have played in the three games, including one new Weasel.

Three March Madness events remain, including two this week. We need three more for the first board at the Red Lion on Thursday. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will end no later than 11. Let's make it happen, and it would be great if we could fill a second board, too. Then on Saturday, we're back in action at Peter Lokken's home in Logan Square, starting at 11 a.m. That game is full and will feature another new Weasel plus the return to the table of Polish national Jakub Mirski, who hasn't played with us since June 2012.

March Madness concludes on March 29 at Matt Sundstrom's home in Glenview, starting at 11 a.m. We need four more for that game.

Look Who's Coming to CODCon
It's less than three weeks till first stab at our eighth annual CODCon Open Diplomacy tournament. Have you made your plans to join us? These folks have. Take a look at the list of confirmed attendees, then ask why your name's not on it. To change that, This email address is being protected from spambots. The three-round tournament will be April 5-6, 2014, at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn. It's not necessary to play in all three rounds--although we hope you will--and it only takes one round to qualify for awards, of which there will be plenty: plaques for first through third place and best play of each country, autographed copies of Ted McClelland's latest book for fourth through seventh, and maybe some special awards.

The Open is the Chicago area's longest-running Diplomacy tournament. It's a fun event with great people watching. I hope you'll join us.

You can find more information about our tournament, including the schedule, here. Learn more about the CODCon convention here. When you decide to come, be sure to respond on Meetup here.

We Want YOU for Weasel Moot
Weasel Moot VIII will be July 26-27 at the Hampton Inn and Suites downtown. It's a great location, and it should be a fun event. You can find all the info you need on the website, but briefly, it will be a three-round tournament with the best two rounds counting for score. We'll have two rounds on Saturday and one on Sunday. On Friday, we plan to organize a social event -- perhaps an outing to the Blue Frog's Local 22 karaoke bar, which is right by the Hampton Inn. For those of you who remember the gay karaoke bar with the leaky ceiling that we stumbled into during the WDC in 2012, this one isn't it.

Check out the site and go ahead and preregister. You'll save $5. Defending champ Chris Martin has already preregistered. Thanks, Chris, and welcome back!

Fourteen people have paid up already. Thanks! Remember, your dues pay for our website, the Meetup site, our annual club awards, and the awards for both the Royale and the Brawl, among other things.

That's all for this week.
