facts about us

#Season 14

Our Diplomacy league is the most active in North America. We average more than two league games per month in addition to Tournament play. We score all of our games using the Sum of Squares scoring system, and each player's best three scores count toward the season standings. We are known for our fierce competition, strong traditions, upstanding character and trustworthiness, and the propensity for Turkey to open to Armenia.

No fooling! March was our busiest month yet

Our fourth annual March Madness extravaganza was our best yet in terms of games played. We played seven games in March, one more than the previous record set in August 2009 and matched in March 2010. Despite the additional game, we had one fewer player than last year. We also attracted two fewer recruits. This table compares all four March Madness promotions based on three metrics.

  2008 2009 2010 2011
Games 5 4 6 7
Unique Players 25 19 30 29
New Players 12 2 8 6

All in all, March was a great month for the Weasels and a good lead-in to our fifth annual CODCon Open, which kicks off our season's second half.

We played a whopping 29 games in the first half of Season 6. That's more than we played in our first two seasons combined and more than we played in any of our first four seasons. Last season, we played 35 games. We should surpass that number in June.

And speaking of upcoming games, we'll announce some new ones this weekend to the paid membership. The rest of you will have to wait till CODCon. If you haven't paid your dues yet, what are you waiting for? We've built a great club here in Chicago, but we need your support to keep it going. Your dues fund this website, our Meetup site, and our annual club and Royale awards, plus allow us to offset the hosting cost for the Royale. If you haven't already, please support the Weasels today.

See you over a board soon.

Seven house games in a month is incredible. Other clubs struggle to have one game a month, and few have more than that. Well done Weasels! Let's keep it going -- I'll have four games at my house in May, June, and July to be announced to the public after CODCon.
