facts about us

#Season 14

Our Diplomacy league is the most active in North America. We average more than two league games per month in addition to Tournament play. We score all of our games using the Sum of Squares scoring system, and each player's best three scores count toward the season standings. We are known for our fierce competition, strong traditions, upstanding character and trustworthiness, and the propensity for Turkey to open to Armenia.

Frequently Asked Question No. 1:
Which airport should I fly into?

Great question. The venue is really close to both. It's no more than 15 minutes from Midway and no more than 20 minutes from O'Hare. Choose the best flight for you, and we'll pick you up and drop you off at either airport. We're cool like that.

Frequently Asked Question No. 2:
Dudes, why are you leaving the city? The old venue was in a great spot!
Yah, that was a tough decision for us. But, the new venue gives us more space, which we need, and it's a great value for travelers and locals who want to stay at the hotel. The room rate is only $79 per night. And parking is free, so that will save commuting players up to $44. And there's a bar in the hotel. Plus, I know of a 24-hour diner within a 10-minute drive of the hotel, and we can go there without being beaten up by drunk girls, which actually happened last year. And if you fly in on Thursday or stay till Monday, we'll find a local to put you up for that extra night, and we'll show you around the city at no extra charge. :-)

Frequently Asked Question No. 3:
What about public transportation?
Take the Metra to the Hinsdale stop on the Burlington Northern line. We'll pick you up there. The Willow Springs stop on the Heritage Corridor line could also work, but that line runs on weekdays only, so it will work for Friday night only. Both the Hinsdale and Willow Springs stops are only five minutes from the hotel.

Yeah. PayPal link. Totally awesome. Consider if you haven't (again I'm not a computer web guy, so I'm not sure how much work I am suggesting) a permanent link for Donations and Dues.

Best,
Thomas

Frequently Asked Question No. 4:
When should I fly home?
There's no round scheduled for Sunday. The awards ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. unless a round 3 game is still going then. After the awards ceremony, we'll go somewhere for lunch and to rehash the weekend. That will be it.

But for the Tournament Committee, Weasel Moot IV doesn't end till the last traveler leaves town. Find a flight for any time after 2:30 p.m. or so, and we'll entertain you right up to the point where we drop you off at the airport. Then you're on your own.
