Gus Spelman, one of the many promising new recruits from Seasons 11 and 12, bagged his first board-top last night at the Red Lion in Lincoln Square. We suspect it won't be his last.

Game No. 347 ended by time limit after the Fall 1906 turn in the following center counts:

Austria (Bryan Pravel): 3; 4.286 points.
England (Mick Johnson): 0; 0.000 points.
France (Gus Spelman): 8; 30.476 points.
Germany (Ali Adib): 6; 17.143 points.
Italy (Brian Shelden): 6; 17.143 points.
Russia (Brandon Fogel): 7; 23.333 points.
Turkey (Andrew Levin): 4; 7.619 points.

The game seems to be clicking for Spelman, who posted two eight-center seconds at Weasel Moot in June.

"He deserved the win," says no less an authority than War Weasel and league leader Brandon Fogel. "He didn't panic after an early miscue, weathered a solid E/G, and took advantage of late opportunities."

Yup, sounds like a Weasel.

Andrew Levin, meanwhile, was playing for the first time. He interned with Brian Shelden for the summer but now heads back to school. Perhaps we'll see him again some day.

Levin was our 42nd new recruit of Season 12, which puts us second only to the 49 first-time Weasels who played with us in Season 7.

The supply center chart is here. Players, how did it go down?
