Icing for Cake

It's easier for a baseball player to deal with failure than it is for, say, a football player. The baseball player can redeem himself the next night. The football player must wait at least a week for his chance.

Similarly, one of the nice things about playing Dip with the Windy City Weasels is you usually don't have to wait long to wash away the taste of a bad game. Such was the case on Wednesday night at the Red Lion, where the Weasels gathered to play our 20th game of the season and our 213th overall. Just one week after writing a whopping seven misorders as Russia in Game No. 212, Ted "Cake" Phillips guided England to a share of the board top.

Game No. 213 ended by time limit after the Fall 1906 turn in the following center counts:

Austria (Matt Kade): 6; 15.126 points.
England (Ted Phillips): 8; 26.891 points.
France (Keith Ammann): 3; 3.782 points.
Germany (Nate Cockerill): 8; 26.891 points.
Italy (Ulysses Peterson): 1; 0.420 points.
Russia (Sam Bassett): 0; 0.000 points.
Turkey (Josh Heffernan): 8; 26.891 points.

Check out the supply center chart here.

Phillips has now shared two tops in four games with the Weasels, but this one was just icing on the cake.

The event was "wonderful as usual," Phillips said.

And that matters more than center counts and misorders.

We hope you're planning to join us for Weasel Moot VII, June 22-23 at the Holiday Inn in Willowbrook. In the meantime, keep your eyes on the site for opportunities to tune up.

Game No. 213 was the last of our three straight Wednesday night tilts. A total of 14 unique players played in the three games. Two -- Nate Cockerill and Matt Kade -- played in all three games. Keith Ammann, Sam Bassett and Ted Phillips played in two each.
