Big, Bad Brad

WCW Club Season 2013 Games

Brad Harrington is a novice no more. In Game No. 201, his fifth ever, all with the club, Harrington guided Austria to a massive board-top in a tough field. Played Sunday at Matt Sundstrom's home in Glenview, the game ended by draw vote in Spring 1911 in the following center counts:

Austria (Brad Harrington): 16; 64.975 points.
England (Mike Morrison): 2; 1.015 points.
France (Mike Whitty): 3; 2.284 points.
Germany (Paul Pignotti): 2; 1.015 points.
Italy (Matt Sundstrom): 11; 30.711 points.
Russia (Don Glass): 0; 0.000 points.
Turkey (Tony Prokes): 0; 0.000 points.

"Brad played a nice, steady game," observed host and league leader Matt Sundstrom. "Not sure he could have soloed as an AI fight was beginning, and we both had weak spots in our lines."

Also worth noting is that the game nearly started on time. The last player arrived at 11:05, just five minutes late. A sign of things to come in 2013? Maybe not, but as Sundstrom noted, it was a refreshing change for the club.

The supply center chart is here. Next up for the Weasels is a game on Jan. 12 at John Gramila's home in Logan Square. One spot remains. In the meantime, let's hear from the players.

I would say that's the best Western Triple I've been in yet.

Mike:
That reminds me that I meant to post this amendment to the 200th game thread:

Dan Burgess hates playing Diplomacy. Which is why he loves the Western Triple.

Anyway, I'd love to hear how you went from nine centers to two. Not easy to do as England.
